News : CCPA Awards and Recognition 2009

Hello CCPA members!

Each year CCPA has the opportunity to recognize contributions to the State, Association and the general Student Affairs profession. Our state association has 4 awards for which you are able to nominate yourself or your peers.

These awards recognize the contributions and enthusiasm of new professionals and graduate students who work and/or conduct research, those who have made a significant impact upon their department and/or campus through specific initiatives or by way of their day-to-day interactions with students and staff. The awards also attempt to acknowledge any contribution to the California College Personnel Association.

Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague for an award in one of the following categories:

  1. Outstanding Graduate Student Award
  2. Outstanding New Professional Award
  3. Outstanding Professional Award
  4. Outstanding Service to the Association

Attached to this email are the CCPA Awards Nomination forms. The nomination forms have more detailed information about each award. A completed nomination can be submitted through email or regular mail.

I encourage everyone to take a few minutes out of their day and recognize that special colleague that has gone above and beyond. You only need to submit a one-page nomination letter explaining why this person or program deserves the selected award.

Also, if you are interested in being a part of the award selection process, please let me know! I am looking for volunteers to help read and choose the awards. It’s a great way to get involved with our state association—and it won’t be a huge time commitment!

All nominations are due Friday, November 6, 2009 at the close of business.

Please take a moment and nominate one of your colleagues today!
