Hello Student Affairs Professionals and Graduate Students in Higher Education and Student Affairs programs! I want to introduce myself as the new Graduate Student Constituency Representative. I am a graduate student in the Higher Education Administration and Policy M.Ed. Program at the University of California Riverside and am employed as Assistant Resident Director for the Glen Mor Student Apartments.
I came to Student Affairs because I found myself an alumnus of UC Riverside and wasn’t too sure anymore about the secondary school teaching profession. I was introduced by professors and college administrators to possibilities in working with student organizations and my fraternity in an advisory capacity. From then forward, my torch for Higher Education would light the way to my program now.
I want to make it clear that I have high hopes for CCPA and I am excited for the upcoming year and the professional development opportunities being made open for Graduate Students and also New and Seasoned Professionals. My main goal stands expose the profession of Student Affairs to Graduate Students and Undergraduates in California colleges and universities but also to network and help Graduate Students such as myself, make those connections as well.
Explore what we do and feel free to contact me or any other board member if you’re looking for opportunities or if you have opportunities for our members. We should be one big happy family because it’s not about any of us, as much as it is, at the center, about the college experience and how we can make it better for all of our students.
Join me in Research, in Networking, and Cultivating that California Spirit of Innovation and Development
Aaron Jones
