Keegan Mills, President
Student Leadership and Engagement
University of San Francisco
415.422.2342
Term: 2011-2012
Keegan is originally from the east coast but is a west coaster at heart. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree (Major: Communication Sciences and Disorders) from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) she went on to work as an Americorps*VISTA for the DC Public Schools as a Service-Learning Facilitator. After a few years in the capital city, she ventured off to Blue Hen country for her Master in Education (Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education) at the University of Delaware. Before Alicia Keys wrote her song, Keegan was walking through the streets of New York, not quite NYC but a small, liberal arts college– Purchase College, State University of New York. The hills of San Francisco were calling her name and she arrived to the University of San Francisco with flowers in her hair. As an undergraduate Keegan was heavily involved in the Alternative Breaks program, which was her calling to the field of student affairs. She has worked with orientation programs, student government, community service/service-learning, and leadership programs. As the President-elect of CCPA she hopes to enhance the resources provided to members of CCPA and continue to create opportunities whereby members can network and build sustainable relationships with colleagues throughout the state.

Aaron, a native is South Los Angeles, graduated from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelor’s in English and has just returned to UCR to complete a MEd in Higher Education Administration & Policy. He was slated to become a high school English teacher but decided that all his free time that was being utilized to help support student organizations was a sign for a career change.

He has spent the better part of his time in the past 2 and half years advising student organizations such as the National Pan Hellenic Council at UCR, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. His research and practice interests span Leadership Development, Student Activities and Advisement, Fraternities & Sororities, Diverstiy and Social Justice, Housing and Residential Life and Student Conduct and Advocacy.
As the Graduate Student Constituency Representative for CCPA, he endeavors to help facilitate dialogue relation to California opportunities for graduate students (employment, development, networking, etc.), encouraging more undergraduates and even professionals to pursue graduate programs in student affairs, and all around helping to make the Student Affairs profession in California a close knit community with the California Spirit.
In addition to the above he is also the Vice President of the UCR Alumni Association Black Alumni Chapter, and member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Holding So Cal District, Western Region & National Positions), Association of Fraternity Sorority Advisors, ACPA, NASPA and the NAACP. Sierra College
Term: 2010-2011
Originally from Salinas, California, I transferred from Gavilan College in Gilroy to CSU, Sacramento where I double majored in Psychology and English. While at Sac State, I obtained a job as a Resident Assistant, and the rest is history! I fell in love with Student Affairs, and I have been here at Sierra for the past 9 years where I run the Residence Life program. I have also recently taken on running the parking and security operations for the District. Yay budget cuts! I would like to get community colleges more plugged into CCPA, as more and more we are serving the same types of students. There are too many professional development opportunities that we miss out on at the community college level, and I would like to change that!
